Digital thermometers use during COVID-19
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. As the virus has reached Ireland, digital thermometers can protect your customers, staff and clients.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
The virus can vary in seriousness. Some infected people can experience cold-like symptoms and others can experience symptoms of pneumonia. It can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people and those with long-term conditions (like diabetes or asthma). Symptoms may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure.
The main symptoms to look out for are:
• A cough
• Α high temperature. This is usually when the body temperature is 38C or more
• Shortness of breath
Protect yourself from COVID-19
Wash your hands properly and regularly
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough and sneeze.
Put used tissues into a bin and wash your hands.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
What are the treatment options?
There is currently no vaccine or medicine available for coronavirus. Medical professionals can treat symptoms (like a high temperature) of the infection.
